Healthy soil is essential for food production, forest conservation and the health of natural areas. Healthy soil is good for gardening, agriculture, and forestry that is climate-resilient. Soil can even pull CO2 from the air to reduce climate change.
Sara Via, PhD, is a professor of biology and entomology at University of Maryland and co-leads Chesapeake PSR's Climate Health Action Team. Dr. Via will speak as part of the Maryland Climate Coalition's Climate Change Speaker Series. The event is co-hosted by Climate Stewards of Greater Annapolis.
Learn what healthy soil is, how to know if you have it, and how to build it if you don’t. There even will be a show-and-tell demonstration of soil health.
